A live GOLD/XAUUSD signal is available on MQL5 for traders who want to review the strategy's trading history and account statistics.
At the time these details were provided, the signal had been active for approximately 16 months with more than 6,800 trades on a Standard account using 1:400 leverage. Because signal statistics continue to change, please check the MQL5 page for the latest results.
Past and current signal results do not guarantee future trading performance.
Apache MHL for MT4 and MT5
This product page covers the MetaTrader 4 version.
How Apache MHL Works
Apache MHL uses multiple Moving Averages to analyze price behaviour and identify potential breakout opportunities.
The strategy uses Simple Moving Averages (SMA) calculated around price highs and lows. When price moves beyond the relevant Moving Average level by the configured distance, the EA can identify a potential bullish or bearish trading opportunity.
An RSI confirmation option is also available to help evaluate market strength before trading conditions are accepted.
When the required conditions are satisfied, Apache MHL can automatically execute BUY or SELL orders according to the selected settings.
Moving Average & Breakout Strategy
The core strategy is based on Moving Average levels and configurable breakout distances.
Rather than simply entering whenever price crosses an average, the EA allows the trader to define a distance in points between price and the relevant Moving Average level.
This provides additional control over how breakout conditions are interpreted.
Moving Average periods and related parameters can be adjusted by the user.
Grid & Martingale Management
Apache MHL includes Grid and Martingale functionality, and traders should understand these features before using the EA with real funds.
When the strategy requires additional orders, positions can be opened according to predefined spacing rules.
The Martingale component can increase the lot size of subsequent positions according to a configurable multiplier. The EA also allows the trader to define limits on the number of Martingale repetitions.
Important parameters include:
Initial lot size
Lot multiplier
Maximum Martingale repetitions
Distance between orders
Martingale distance
Maximum number of orders
Take Profit
Stop Loss
Trading hours
Grid and Martingale strategies can substantially increase market exposure and drawdown. Conservative settings and careful testing are strongly recommended.
Basket / Accumulated Profit Management
Apache MHL can monitor the combined result of positions managed by the EA.
When the accumulated profit reaches the configured target, the system can close the relevant positions automatically.
This basket-style management allows multiple trades to be managed according to their combined result rather than treating every position independently.
RSI Confirmation
In addition to its Moving Average logic, Apache MHL provides configurable RSI analysis.
RSI can be used as an additional confirmation layer to help evaluate market strength before trading conditions are accepted.
Users can adjust the RSI parameters according to their preferred strategy and testing results.
Flexible User Settings
Apache MHL provides extensive control over its trading behaviour.
Depending on the version and configuration, adjustable parameters can include Moving Average periods, lot size, lot multiplier, breakout distance, Grid spacing, Martingale distance, maximum Martingale repetitions, maximum orders, trading hours, Take Profit, Stop Loss and RSI settings.
Because these settings can significantly change trading frequency and risk, users should test parameter changes carefully before using them on a live account.
On-Chart Trading Information
The EA displays useful operational information directly on the MetaTrader chart.
This can help traders monitor information such as open positions and the current operational status of the Expert Advisor without constantly navigating through multiple MetaTrader windows.
Designed for Gold / XAUUSD
Apache MHL is primarily designed for GOLD / XAUUSD.
Gold can experience high volatility, rapid price movements and periods of significant spread expansion. Broker conditions can therefore have a noticeable effect on automated trading results.
Execution speed, spread, commission, slippage, leverage and symbol specifications should all be considered when testing the EA.

Getting Started
Before live trading, install Apache MHL on MetaTrader 4 and test the EA using the MT4 Strategy Tester and a demo account.
Pay particular attention to lot size, Martingale multiplier, maximum positions, Grid distance and maximum Martingale repetitions, as these settings directly affect account exposure.
A configuration suitable for one account may be inappropriate for another account with different balance, leverage, spread or broker conditions.
Backtesting & Live Results
Backtests and live signals can provide useful information about how an automated strategy has behaved under particular conditions, but they should not be interpreted as guarantees.
Actual results may vary because of market conditions, broker pricing, spread, slippage, commissions, execution speed, leverage and differences in EA settings.
The MQL5 live signal is provided as an additional reference for evaluating the strategy. Users should review the latest statistics directly on MQL5 rather than relying solely on historical screenshots or previously reported figures.
Important Risk Warning
Apache MHL uses Grid and Martingale functionality. These methods can increase trading exposure and may result in substantial drawdown or loss during adverse market conditions.
There is no guaranteed profit, success rate or future performance.
Always test the EA thoroughly on historical data and a demo account before considering live trading. Use a position size appropriate for your account and ensure that you understand how the Grid, Martingale, Stop Loss and basket-management settings operate.
Trading Gold, Forex and CFDs involves significant risk and may not be suitable for every trader.
Apache MHL Moving Average MT4 is an automation tool designed to help traders implement a configurable Moving Average, breakout, RSI, Grid and Martingale strategy on GOLD/XAUUSD. The user remains responsible for selecting appropriate settings and managing trading risk.
